
An Insight Session on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) was organized by Pushpagiri College of Pharmacy on 31st July 2026 . The programme was organized by IQAC in association with the Department of Pharmacology, NSS, SQAC, and SSGP to create awareness about the importance of Intellectual Property Rights in protecting innovation and research.
The programme began with a prayer song by the College Choir, followed by the welcome address by Mrs. Sumi James, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology. The resource person, Adv. Rohit C. Oommen, delivered an informative session on the fundamentals of IPR, covering patents, copyrights, trademarks, industrial designs, geographical indications, and trade secrets. He also highlighted the significance of IPR in pharmaceutical research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and legal protection of intellectual property.
The session was interactive and well received by the participants, providing valuable insights into the role of Intellectual Property Rights in academic and professional practice.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Anjana Krishna, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology, expressing gratitude to the management, resource person, faculty members, students, and the organizing committee for their support.
