In connection with International Yoga Day, the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, NSS Unit, IQAC, and SSGP of Pushpagiri College of Pharmacy, in association with Peringara Grama Panchayat, organized Yoga Day celebration on 20th June 2026 at Vengal Devamatha Community Hall.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Divya V, Assistant Professor,Dept. of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. The function was presided over by Mrs. Anie Abraham, Vice President of Peringara Grama Panchayat and inaugurated by Mrs. Haridasi Sasi, President of Peringara Grama Panchayat.
During the inaugural session, Mrs. Lailamani M.S., Secretary of Peringara Grama Panchayat, and Mr. Sabu Issac, Ward Member, extended their felicitations and highlighted the importance of yoga in promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The resource person, Mr. M.G. Dileep, Yoga Trainer from Pranavam Yoga Centre, Thiruvalla, delivered an informative session on the significance of yoga and conducted a practical yoga training programme for the participants. He explained the role of regular yoga practice in improving both physical and mental well-being.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Anju V., Associate Professor,Dept. of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. A large number of participants from different age groups attended the event. The programme successfully created awareness about the importance of yoga and encouraged the adoption of a healthy lifestyle among the public.
