As part of the 64th Pharmacy Week celebrations, the Department of Pharmaceutics in association with IQAC, organized a World Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness program on 22nd November 2025. The event aimed to create awareness about the rising threat of antimicrobial resistance and to highlight the responsibility of healthcare professionals in this growing global challenge.
The program commenced with a prayer song. This was followed by a warm and thoughtful welcome address delivered by Ms Harija S Nair, Assistant Professor.
A key highlight of the event was the Awareness talk by Dr. Betsy A. Jose, Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Medicine, Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. Her presentation focused on the critical importance of using antimicrobials responsibly and strengthening antimicrobial stewardship within our healthcare system. B. Pharm and Pharm D Students, took part actively, making the session engaging and interactive.Prof. Dr. Anjana M.N., HOD, Dept. of Pharmaceutics,presented a memento to the speaker as a token of appreciation for her valuable contribution to the event. The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Mrs Jisha B, Assistant Professor, and ended formally with the National Anthem.
